Well, if anyone has recently been to a Urgent Care clinic, you might have either found a large waiting line or even worse, that the Urgent Care clinic was closed.

The Urgent Care! app would tell you the closest clinics and provide contact info; directions via map (or directions if GPS enabled), along with current wait times and facilities, i.e., X-ray equipped etc. Such an app would better help distribute incoming clients, as opposed to completely overloading certain clinics resulting in long waits and again, even worse, helping avoid showing up at a clinic needing assistance, only to find the clinic closed. The app could be as elegant as one would like, into that it might also include basic first aid information that might help minimise needless visits to the clinic for something like a bruised knee that would simply benefit from Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation etc.

    Brilliant! This app would be so useful. I hate waiting around at a clinic or worse showing up at one clinic with a long wait time and then getting back in your car to drive to another only to find their walk-in clinic hours don't open until after 5:00!!!

    I got stuck in this scenario not too long ago and ended up driving to the other end of town to get into a clinic - this app would surely save a lot of people a lot of time and hopeful prevent serious health issues from arising otherwise.

    Well, there's no easy way to get clinic wait times automatically, but we've created a text message (SMS) based app that gives you:

    - the 3 nearest clinics to your location
    - hours and a phone number for each location so you can call ahead.

    I plan to integrate more features like directions and wait times for appletree clinics (which are published online) in the future if it proves popular enough.

    This is a great idea. How many of us have experienced long wait times whose effect can be to make one more sick? Great idea. Plus it would use scarce resources and limited finances more efficiently and effectively.

    This would be an excellent idea especially when you are working and your time is valuable for the employer as well as fellow employees. You can plan to be out for not more than is necessary to deal with pesonal issues. This is a winning idea in my books.
